GREENSBORO — The Class of 1958 presented UNCG with the largest reunion class gift — $1.08 million — in the history of the university.

This is the first time a reunion class gift has exceeded $1 million dollars.

The gift was presented to Chancellor Patricia A. Sullivan during the 115th meeting of the UNCG Alumni Association, which was Friday and Saturday.

Presenters were Rascha Sklut Kriegsman of Greensboro, Pat Shore Clark of Winston-Salem and Sue Sigmon Williams of Atlanta who served as reunion chairs.

Williams also received the Distinguished Alumni Award at the reunion.

"Class gifts honoring a class's 50th anniversary have been a continuous tradition since 1915," said Miriam Blackwelder Fields, director of development for the School of Music.

"The class of 1958 members have illustrated their commitment to helping this institution achieve its goal of making UNCG a university of first choice for students," Fields said. "They have shown future students that this is the place to be for a top quality, meaningful education."

Funds from the gift will go toward the Students First Campaign, UNCG's $100 million capital campaign that is underway, which has raised more than $95 million to date.
