REIDSVILLE — A school resource officer used a Taser on a Reidsville High School student Monday, according to a news release from the Reidsville Police Department.
The officer observed an assault in progress and gave commands for the suspect to stop, the release said. The officer tried to separate the two students and was knocked to the ground. The officer used the Taser to bring the suspect under control. The student was treated for minor injuries at Annie Penn Hospital and released.
Charges are pending against the student in the juvenile court system.
